Branding and consistency - Stimulating your customers senses.

Is your business struggling to gain traction in the highly competitive Toronto market? Many business owners believe their product or service is enough, but the reality is that branding is the single most critical factor differentiating the companies that do the bare minimum and those that go the extra mile.

Look at the most successful businesses operating in downtown Toronto and the GTA: they achieve remarkable profitability and loyalty because they possess unwavering consistency. This consistency isn't accidental; it's a direct result of a finely tuned branding that aligns every offering, promotion, and customer touchpoint. If your messaging is inconsistent, you’re losing potential customers to competitors who have built a better mouse trap by using this tool.

The cherry on top of the cupcake is consistency with your branding. Five years ago a branding package would have included fonts, tone, colours. Now big business has taken it one step further by stimulating senses. The other day I was on hold with TD bank, and I heard a song that was much like an intro song to a sitcom. Parts of it sounded familiar and I found that the longer I waited listening to the score, the longer I was being marketed to. TD found a way to brand sound. Beyond visualizing the colours and texts, they went from sights, to sounds. We have all heard a TD commercial that ends in “dena nena” in an echoing synthatsized sound. Well as it turns out, that soundbite is part of a longer song that they use while customers are on hold. Not every business can use sound as part of their branding strategy, but this is where creativity plays a role. If you are a solopreneur, then the sound of your voice also doubles as branding. If you are a retailer in Toronto who does live events on social media, perhaps dinging a bell to start your event is also a branding method. Food for thought.

Stop guessing and start scaling. If you are ready to overcome obstacles and establish the kind of brand consistency that drives predictable business growth, it’s time to partner with an expert.
