How to grow your small business.

My instinct is to jump into multiple marketing strategies to build your brand and exposure it, but the Business Coach in me knows better.

I know that every business is different.  From product driven businesses to service driven businesses.  It would also be important to know which stage your business is in to learn how to grow it.  If it is in its infancy stage and requires plenty of TLC, then it would be important to highlight that you need to review your successes.

From analytics, to what your customers/clients are saying. This is the study period that reveals innovative ways to grow.  The infancy stage will have plenty of opportunities for you to note revenue streams you can build off of immediately, or in the future (maybe the toddler stage of your business).

Once you identify potential streams to generate revenue, you need to attack each at the right time.  The right time is when you have started making enough money to invest in a new growth strategy.  Alternatively, the right time might be when you have secured a loan that will allow you to test new streams without disrupting your businesses current path.

Establish your goals for 6 months at a time.  Take note of what you need to follow through.  Revisit your goals often to stay on track.

Also consider how you can tap into existing business, or clients/customers.  If you can first build off what you have, you can drive more revenue, and that will help bank-roll your tests.

Growing your business is not the same as making money.   It often takes money to grow, and that money takes time to pay back.  So if your business is growing, do not expect that it will translate to immediate cash in your pockets.
