The importance of a Marketing Strategy
Having over 25 years of marketing experience and seeing its evolution from classic to digital, I acknowledge that planning a complete seasonal strategy to ascertain leads and interest is vital to driving revenue.
As a Marketing and Business Coach, I know that most small business owners and solopreneurs I speak to in the Toronto area tend to struggle with idea generation. Creativity plays a role in classic marketing (one of the 3 kinds of marketing). Digital marketing requires strong content, but there are various avenues to gain exposure. It usually requires a “pay to play” approach where results can be measured. Guerilla marketing (the last of the kinds of marketing) also requires creativity and imagination and it is designed for the risk adverse business owner. All 3 marketing types play various roles in gaining the RIGHT clientele. This is where a marketing strategy comes into play. It is like a cocktail with different ingredients. All the ingredients work well together and some only work together in order to enhance the others. A seasonal marketing strategy, planned several months in advance allows business owners to not only have time to properly prepare, but to phase out the plan so the strategy flows.
The end result is simple. You will see an increase. You will also get an understanding of what worked and didn’t and much like AI, your marketing strategy will get smarter every season because you will know where to invest more time and money to continue to play off your strategies strengths.
